Take a walk on the wild side with one of our special tours by an experienced guide who will show your group around the zoo. Groups will enjoy hearing 'behind the scene' stories, animal facts and trivia,as well as explore the artifacts from our tour bag.
Please note that only the VIP tour include the meet and greet with some of the animal ambassadors.

If you want a quick introduction to the zoo, this is for you! Enjoy an educational hands-on experience with 3 - 4 of our education animal ambassadors. We can't guarantee the species availability, but we will try and accomadate your lesson topics.

This program is designed for toddlers and their adults to discover the natural world together. We will use the basics of the alphabet to explore different animals in our zoo. In each class you will discover a different type of animals: mammals, birds, reptiles, insects. Your classroom experience will include stories, craft projects and special animal visitors. All children must be accompanied by an adult who is willing to take part in the activities.
Each session features classes with a slightly different theme, so you can attend one or all five sessions.

Summer Zoo Camp is fun filled camp sessions geared toward specific age groups. At camp kids participate in zoo tours, hands-on activities, games, and crafts and interact with animals. Zoo Camp offers your child a unique opportunity to experience all the Washington Park Zoo has to offer!

Animal training 101 - There is much more to animal training than sit and stay. Learn the fundamentals of animal behavior and training, then use that knowledge throughout the week as you work to build a project for the animals.
Animals sure do some strange things! Some look a little strange, some act a bit peculiar, and others are all around loony. We will be taking a closer look at mysterious, grotesque, oddball, awe-inspiring, far-out, wacky, and totally weird wildlife!
You know the ones. They might be prickly, stinky, slimy, or have a face only a mother could love. Let’s change the “eww!” to “wow!” and go beyond the surface to find out why these animals deserve our love too. Scaly and surprising snakes, turtles, and lizards are fascinating creatures with some wild adaptations. Non-poisonous snakes eat poisonous snakes and a turtle’s favorite food may surprise you. Learn more about these amazing creatures as we creep into the exciting world of reptiles, amphibians and other cold-blooded creatures.
